in my hand series & others
I
am always concerned with conveying the deep spiritual beauty
of wild birds I see and actually feel. I usually put a bird in my left
hand
and hold my camera in my right hand, then click the shutter.
Some birds are really friendly, and they come onto my hand happily, but
sometimes I have birds that accidentally hit against
the windows and are in a shock a little while on ground. This series
began from just saving birds from predators, but I realized that for me
this is a perfect opportunity to observe and photograph them up close,
though I have only a couple of minutes.
This special moment creates a harmony and impermanent tension
between the birds and me, because I know they
will never come back to my hand again after returning to the sky.
(When I have birds that are stunned badly, that's not my time to photograph.
I
just put them in a box and let them recover in the shade.)
